Marianne Botros is a Canadian-Egyptian visual artist born in Saudi Arabia and currently based in Canada. She serves as a faculty member in the Art History and Visual Studies department at the University of Toronto.
Her academic and artistic practice centers on visual culture and the dynamics of verbal and non-verbal communication within Western contexts. Botros’ work also emphasizes the role of art as a powerful tool for supporting mental health and well-being. Drawing from her lived experience as an immigrant, she critically engages with themes of identity, cultural hybridity, and belonging, reflecting on the complexities of navigating diverse cultural landscapes within Canada’s multicultural society.
